First Grade Teacher
The 2010-2011 school year will be my 19th year teaching. I graduated from Northern Michigan University where I majored in Elementary Education. During my student teaching in a 2nd grade classroom, I worked closely with children who had learning disabilities and decided to spend my graduate studies majoring in Special Education-LD. I have taught Head Start, 1st through 5th grade special education-LD, junior-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade. There are wonderful qualities about the children at all grade levels, but I have to admit that first graders are my favorite to teach! Their perspectives make me smile daily!
My husband and I have
two children and they have attended Classical since kindergarten. My oldest
daughter will begin high school this fall and my youngest daughter
will be in 4th grade. From both a teacher’s standpoint and a parent’s,
I feel very fortunate to be part of Classical School. Our children are
receiving an excellent education from a wonderful staff! I am looking forward
to another great school year!
