I am new to Classical School this year and will being teaching Kindergarten music. This is my 3rd year in the Appleton Area School District. Previous years I have taught general music at Ferber, Huntley, and Fox River Academy (grades 7/8), as well as choral music at Roosevelt Middle School. Having taught part-time last year, I did a lot of substitute teaching for many of the music teachers in the district, so many students may recognize me. This year I am teaching music 90% at Horizons Elementary and 10% at Classical School. I travel on Mondays and Wednesdays between the two schools and the rest of the days I am at Horizons. Before coming to Appleton, I taught choral music at Webb Middle School in Reedsburg, WI. I graduated in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a bachelor degree in music education.
I live in the Darboy area with my husband, Aaron and our golden retriever puppy, Libby. In my spare time I love to sing and play piano on the worship team at my church, go on walks with my puppy Libby, scrapbook, listen to music and travel to visit friends and family. I am also the conductor of the Senior Choir for the Appleton Boychoir.
You could say that teaching runs in my blood. Both of my parents were teachers for 33 years before they retired. Both of my sisters just finished or are going to school to become teachers and I have 3 aunts and 4 cousins who teach. I have a passion for music and I love to work with children, so being a music teacher is the right fit for me!
I look forward to a wonderful
school year and making beautiful music!
