Señora Diana Syverson
Kindergarten Teacher

Welcome to Classical Kindergarten!  My name is Diana Syverson, and I am looking forward to an exciting school year. The children and I will read, talk, observe, play and learn many, many new things.  (Yes, I will learn new things too.)  The children and I will take this journey called kindergarten together.

This is the start of my tenth year at Classical School.  I have been preparing for the privilege of teaching your child all of my life.  I attended California State University, Los Angeles and UW Oshkosh. For my first five years at Classical School I was Sra. Syverson to my students, so I think it is important to use Spanish throughout the day.  Outside of the classroom, I love to read books.  Most recently, my son introduced me to The Ranger's Apprentice series.  I also like to sew, run, walk, and kayak.  It's exciting to be in a kayak on the river and know that your paddle is your sole source of power.  What a treat it is to live in a place where waterways are so accessible and at least until the snow falls.

My husband, Steve, and I have lived in Appleton for twenty-six years.  Last spring, we traveled to Denmark to visit our son who was studying abroad. Our family spent nine days traveling through Denmark and Sweden, getting to know the places that had become my son's new home.  We also are actively involved in our local Habitat for Humanity. This organization continues to be a special project for our family.

I truly enjoy working with young children and hope that your child will gain as much from our interaction as I hope to gain from it. I look forward to getting to know your family as the year progresses. Thank you for this opportunity to share in your daughter or son's education.
