Hello, and welcome to my web page!  I’m Mrs. Herron and I’m the school counselor here at Classical School.  In addition to being at Classical, I will also be sharing my time with Jefferson Elementary School.  I will be at Classical on Mondays this year.  I have a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from Lakeland College.  I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and was a medical social worker in Minnesota before moving to Appleton 17 years ago.

I’m very familiar with Classical School as I’ve been a parent at Classical since our great school opened back in 1999.  One of my children attends Classical, in the 8th grade.  I also have another child at Appleton North High School, and one who is in college.  As a family, we enjoy spending time on our state’s wonderful lakes in the summer.  This summer I participated in a service/mission trip to the Steubenville, Ohio area.  It was an honor to work with the children and adults of that area and get to know the challenges of their daily lives.  It is truly in serving and listening to others that we can become understanding and effective leaders for positive change.  Another highlight of my summer was getting to know my new puppy, Ava.  She is a feisty little black Shih tzu/Bichon mix who loves to run, play, and socialize with other people and dogs. She also loves to chew on my kitchen chairs.

In addition to spending time with my family, I also love to garden, walk, read, and to be involved with community service opportunities.
