About my family and myself:
My daughter just graduated from Classical
and is now a freshman in High School. I've a two year old son, who is just
fun to be around with. My husband is a senior software manager and a real
estate agent; he has three masters' degrees. I have an undergraduate degree
in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. My work experiences in the
order of my most current position are as follows: software consultant,
a project specialist trainer, computer instructor, software engineer, a
data support specialist, and a financial consultant.
About Education:
Both my husband and I feel that the gift
of education is the most important gift that we can give our kids. Looking
back at our own educational experiences, we realized that although our
curriculum was rich and rigorous, it was focused on the hard core math
and sciences, but not so much on arts and humanities. After reviewing the
curriculum at Classical, we were very happy to see that it focuses on the
overall individual development.
When we moved to the Valley about 5 years ago, we were looking for educational options for our daughter and came across the Core Knowledge curriculum, and we were very impressed with how detailed the curriculum was for all the K-8 grades. The curriculum provides the parents with valuable information of what our kids will be learning in every subject/grade.
In a nutshell, I'm delighted to be a member
of the Board, thankful that I'm blessed with a wonderful family, and glad
that our kids are exposed to such a rich and rigorous curriculum.
