Like many of the founding CCSA Board members, I knew from the moment I discovered the introductory pamphlet, which came home in my first-grade son’s backpack, that Core Knowledge was the answer to many of the issues I had been experiencing. After working in education for years, I recognized Core Knowledge solved the lack of coherence and rigor I had been experiencing in the classroom as a teacher and a parent. I immediately became involved in the formation of Classical School.

My commitment to the mission and philosophy of Core Knowledge© and Classical School has strengthened over the years, as I have studied the education reform debate in our country and watched our graduates move on with success to high school and beyond. I am honored to work with the many talented Board members, teachers, staff, and AASD administrators to provide a just and excellent educational foundation for all students. I received a B.A. in German Language with a concentration in International Studies from Lawrence University and my K-8 teaching certification from St. Norbert College.

I have worked as a teacher and Program Support Specialist within AASD and Classical School, as well as serving as a CCSA Board member. I currently live in the Houston, Texas metro area.
