Susan Rivers
Classical School Fifth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Rivers
I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I came from a family of teachers, principals, and coaches. I earned my Bachelors of Education Degree at Central Michigan University.  This summer several other teachers from our school and I completed our Masters of Arts in Education Degree from Viterbo University.

My husband Marvin graduated from Michigan Tech University as a Civil Engineer. He works as a Structural Engineer for Boldt Construction.

This year (2007-2008) our daughter Christine will be in 10th grade at Appleton West High School. She will be busy playing JV Volleyball, studying hard, and playing her electric piano. Our son Daniel will be an official Badger Wrestler on September 4th.  He will be wrestling at the 149 pound weight class and is very excited to contribute to the Badger wrestling squad. Go Badgers ! He is studying Kinesiology / Psychology and hopes to teach and coach some day. Our oldest son Jonathan is working in the Milwaukee area with Menasha Corporation.

This summer I worked diligently on my research for my completion of my Masters Degree. I stayed a week on campus in La Crosse at Pro-seminar. With the summer quickly ending, I have made a few trips to the Upper Peninsula to visit my mother and relax at the lake. The summer quickly halted and I am ready to begin the school year at Classical School.

I am looking forward to meeting the new faces of fifth graders this year. It is always exciting to begin the journey of learning and growing together.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of building the foundation of your child’s education. I look forward to seeing familiar faces this fall and meeting new ones as well.
