Classical School Directory
As a child, I liked to play school. I played school with the animals on my grandparents’ farm, and when I visited my grandparents in Menasha, I played school with the little girl who lived next door. It’s hard to believe that this will be my 27th year of “real” teaching and I enjoy it as much as I did as a child. I have taught preschool, 5th grade, 2nd grade, and for the last 18 years, 1st grade at Classical School. I find teaching at Classical School very rewarding because the children are interested in learning, the parents are very involved, the teachers are professional and personable and the curriculum is fascinating.
My family and I live in Menasha. In October, my husband and I will celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. We have one son, Alex, who will be a sophomore at Appleton North this year. We also have a daughter, Elizabeth, who will be in 7th grade. They are both looking forward to starting their school adventures in the fall. So am I!
This summer, my family and I took a trip to Bryson City, North Carolina and then continued our long drive south to St. Augustine, Florida. In North Carolina, we braved the narrow gravel path up the mountains and stayed in a cozy little cabin with an awesome view. We hiked and tubed in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In Florida, we spent a relaxing week at the beach. We visited a couple of forts and the historic town of St. Augustine. It was an enjoyable trip aside from the long drive home. We had family visit us from California this summer. It was wonderful spending time with them. I planted a vegetable garden, but nothing grew except tomatoes and cilantro. That’s o.k. because my flower garden looks great! In my quiet time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
