Stacy Juhl

5th - 8th Grade Band Teacher

Welcome to another great school year of music making!  I am eager to meet and work with all of the wonderful band students and families at Classical School.

Although I am a new face here, September 2018 marks the start of my 21st year of teaching.  I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN with a B.A. in Music with Education Certification and then from the American Band College at Southern Oregon University with an M.S. in Instrumental Music Pedagogy.  I spent 20 years with the Hortonville Area School District before coming to Appleton to work at Classical and Einstein.  I addition to teaching, I am also a solo/ensemble accompanist, serve as a musician for my church, and travel the northeastern part of the state as an adjudicator for the Wisconsin State Music Association.

Music runs strong in our family.  My husband—who I met in band!—is a music teacher in the Chilton School District.  We have two children who between them play piano, flute, oboe, ukulele, and guitar.  Outside of music, we as a family love to travel, watch movies, and play board games.  We also stay busy with gymnastics, art club, baseball, coding club, and hockey.  When I have a few precious moments to myself, I love to read or work on piecing my newest quilt project.

“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.”    ~Plato
