PLEASE sign up to support the Classical School SOR!

Please sign up to join the Classical Charter School Association (CCSA) Board at the AASD Programs & Services Committee meeting on Thursday, April 30th at 8:00 a.m. at the Scullen Center in downtown Appleton, to support the establishment of a School of Rhetoric (SOR) for grades 9 – 12. The AASD needs to see that this opportunity is being requested by Classical School families and community members. School of Rhetoric Press Release & Draft Curriculum

The Classical Charter School Association (CCSA) Board asks the community to support our proposal to the Appleton Area School District to establish a School of Rhetoric [SOR] for grades 9-12. The CCSA Board will be formally proposing an amendment to our present contract with the Appleton Area Board of Education on April 30th at the Programs and Services Committee meeting. Please see the press release for more information, including details regarding the meeting and ways you can offer support. The draft curriculum of the SOR is also available for review.

As we prepare to have the School of Rhetoric heard as an item of consideration at the next AASD Programs and Services committee meeting, it is important to clearly understand the relationship between the three stages of classical education (grammar: grades K- 4; logic: grades 5 – 8; rhetoric: grades 9 – 12).
