It’s nearly that time of year again! Classical School’s new student application period for the 2018-2019 school year will begin on December 1, 2017. Applications will be accepted for the lottery through February 16, 2018. Any applications received after that date will be added to the waiting list (or enrollment list if we still have openings) in the order in which they are received. Hello Classical Families and Friends! I have been shifting through the recent results from the Classical School Board follow-up survey regarding homework and I wanted to share some of my thoughts about homework and the survey with everyone. Daily homework is a part of the Classical School experience and an educational tradition we believe is essential to a developing mind. Children learn more effectively though distributed practice and review of concepts originally taught in the classroom. Classical School’s mission is to provide excellence in education for school children through a common foundation. We teach students a contextual body of organized knowledge, the skills of learning within a classical framework, and the values of a democratic society. The Classical Charter School Association (CCSA) board is charged with moving this mission forward.
