Hello Classical Families and Friends, Doesn’t it feel as if the students and families were just entering the Classical School doors following a long summer break?  Full of either bravado or trepidation, the students had new clothes, new school supplies, and a certain anticipatory readiness to embark on a new academic adventure. Upcoming Informational Sessions

Classical School is hosting informational sessions on December 13, 2017 and January 10, 2018 at 6:30 pm. Each session will include a presentation to review the school’s mission and philosophy, time for questions, and the opportunity to view curriculum materials. A tour of the school will also be provided for those interested. Prospective new families are encouraged to attend. Current Classical School families that would like to learn more about the school or share insight with prospective families are also welcome to attend. Classical School is governed by the Classical Charter School Association (CCSA), through a board of directors, in accordance with a contract with the Appleton Area School District. As a Wisconsin not-for-profit corporation, the CCSA is eligible for contributions from Amazon through their AmazonSmile Foundation. Every time you shop at smile.amazon.com, 0.5% of the purchase price from eligible items will be donated to the CCSA at no cost to you. In the past, CCSA funds have been utilized for teacher and staff appreciation and training, as well as graduation gifts. As part of the state accountability system, reflected in Wisconsin’s approved ESEA Flexibility Request, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) produces report cards for every district and school in Wisconsin. Learn more about school report cards. Hello Classical Families and Friends, Recently, Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction released the 2016-17 school and district report cards to the public. While I am always eager to view Classical School’s results, I am also cautious because the state report card is only one representation of our school’s overall culture and success.
