Kindergarten through 8th grade students who choose to participate in Fang’s Reading Club may earn a free ticket to the April 27th Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game by completing and documenting four hours of free-time reading at home. Those completing the reading requirement will also receive a voucher for a free hot dog and soda. The four hours of time need to be documented on the reading log; the completed log is due to Classical School by Friday, April 6th. Hello Classical Families and Friends, On Friday March 16th, while the wider Wisconsin community focused its attentions and celebrations on St. Patrick’s Day and the March Madness of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, our Classical School students and staff began their yearly KAT season with a traditional KAT Kickoff in our school’s forum involving all of students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The CCSA Board’s January update brought attention to all the positives that were coming from the new 5th grade writing curriculum. Unfortunately the Latin pilot program has not had similar success in the 3rd grade. The 3rd grade Latin program, which begins teaching grammar in addition to vocabulary, is proving to be more time intensive than expected. It is also introducing some confusion to the students in the areas of spelling and grammar as they work through inconsistent rules between English and Latin.
