Classical School Directory

As a child, I liked to play school. I played school with the animals on my grandparents’ farm, and when I visited my grandparents in Menasha, I played school with the little girl who lived next door. It’s hard to believe that this will be my 31st year of “real” teaching and I enjoy it as much as I did as a child. I have taught preschool, 5th grade, 2nd grade, and for the last 23 years, 1st grade at Classical School. I find teaching at Classical School very rewarding because the children are interested in learning, the parents are very involved, the teachers are professional and personable, and the curriculum is fascinating.
My family and I live in Menasha. In October my husband and I will celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. We have one son, Alex, who is 19. He is enjoying working at a restaurant in beautiful Door County. We also have a daughter, Elizabeth, who will be a junior at North High School this year. She is busy with her summer job and enjoys spending time with her friends.
Last summer we spent time camping on the half acre lot that we bought in spring of 2021. This summer we began building a cabin on the lot. It is almost finished and we are ready to enjoy the fall colors up north. My husband and I spent most of the summer talking to people involved in the building process and choosing various details to make the cabin just the way we envisioned. It’s been a lot of work but we like what we see so far. Besides being involved in the cabin building details, we took a day trip to visit my son in Door County and took a hike at Peninsula State Park. I also planted a garden, but the rabbits have enjoyed it more than we have. 😄
