I am very excited to begin my second year teaching at Classical School. I started my teaching career in 1997, teaching first and second grade at Little Chute Elementary School. In 2001, I left Little Chute to stay home with my first child. I returned to teaching in 2017 as a substitute for the Appleton Area school district, which included a long-term position at Classical School teaching English and logic to seventh and eighth-graders. The following year I pursued a full-time position and accepted a third-grade teaching job at Jefferson Elementary School. The years between my teaching jobs were full with homeschooling my children. I look forward to this year and hopefully many more here at Classical School!

In 1996, I graduated from UW Oshkosh with a major in Elementary and Middle School Education and a minor in Mathematics. I enjoy teaching all subjects, but I have to say math and history are my favorites.

I grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin. In August of 1995, I married my husband, Kevin. He is a science teacher at Neenah High School. Kevin and I have four children, Nathan, Elijah, Talia, and Liana. All of our children graduated from Classical School. Nathan is a junior at Iowa State University studying Meteorology. Elijah is a sophomore at St. Olaf College studying Chemistry. Talia is a senior, and Liana is a sophomore at Appleton North.

My interests include singing, playing guitar, sewing, and crafting. My favorite children’s book is My Father’s Dragon by Stiles Gannett. I love spending time with my family; we love the outdoors, especially hiking.

I am very committed to my role as a teacher. Being part of the educational philosophy and curriculum here at Classical School is exciting. I look forward to the educational journey that we will take together this school year!
