Growing up with a younger sibling who had a learning disability is what got me interested in the field of special education. As a result, I attended UWO. In 2007 I earned two bachelor’s degrees in the areas of elementary education and cross categorical special education, with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities. After teaching for a bit, I decided to continue my education and in 2011 I earned my master’s in education, with an emphasis in Differentiating Instruction for All Learners. Before joining the Appleton Area School District, I worked as a middle and elementary special education teacher for six years and as a third grade teacher for one year.

My husband and I are proud lifelong residents and graduates of Appleton high schools. We are thankful and blessed that we get to raise our family in Appleton. Both of our sons, Evan and Isaac, attend Classical.

In my spare time, I love cooking (but not cleaning up after), gardening, reading, sledding, taking my boys to local nature centers, watching my boys participate in karate and soccer and watching/going to movies with my family. Our favorite way to spend time together is camping at our seasonal campsite.

Classical School is filled with dedicated teachers and staff who are committed to providing a solid education to every student, this is only one of the many reasons why I am fortunate to be a teacher at Classical!
